ISSUE No. 01 | SEPTEMBER 2, 2026 | WELCOME EDITION
I have been thinking about this newsletter for a while.
Not because I felt we needed another email to send you.
Actually, quite the opposite.
I wanted somewhere we could talk between the events, the announcements, the Summit and everything else we are building at Top 100.
A place where I could show up every week (usually on a Tuesday) and talk to you about the things that matter when you are a Black woman building something, leading something, becoming something or simply trying to work out what your next move looks like.
Because there is a lot we don't always get to talk about.
The business. The career. The money. The visibility. The opportunities we want and the rooms we are trying to enter.
But also the woman carrying all of it.
Her confidence. Her wellbeing. Her relationships. Her family. Her faith. The decisions she is wrestling with quietly. The parts of herself she is still figuring out.
That is why I created In Her Power.
Not as another newsletter telling you to believe in yourself.
I think Black women have heard enough of that.
I want this to be somewhere that helps you work out what to do next.
And sometimes that will be something practical you can use in your business or career.
Sometimes I'll introduce you to a woman I think you should know.
Sometimes I'll share an opportunity, a room you should be in, something happening inside Top 100 or something I've learned the hard way that might save you from having to learn it the same way.
And sometimes, we'll simply have a conversation we need to have.
But whatever lands here on a Tuesday, I want you to leave with something.
An idea.
A connection.
A question worth thinking about.
A practical next move.
Or simply the reminder that there are other Black women navigating some of the very same things you are.
That's what I want In Her Power to become. A weekly letter worth opening
Top 100 was never supposed to be just an event
When I first started building Top 100, one thing mattered to me more than anything else.
I wanted Black women to have access to each other.
Not simply to sit in a room and be inspired by one another.
I wanted us to be able to see one another, learn from one another, open doors for one another, collaborate, create opportunities and build something from those relationships.
Because visibility matters.
But visibility without positioning can become noise.
Connections without relationships become a contact list.
Knowledge without action becomes another notebook full of brilliant ideas.
And being in the room means very little if nothing changes after you leave it.
That thinking has shaped so much of what we are building through Top 100.
The Summit is one room.
But there are other rooms being built too.
There is our growing community, the work of the Top 100 Foundation, mentoring and learning opportunities, our partnership with SCLA, our Legacy Dinner and experiences that will bring Black women together in very different ways.
You'll hear more about all of those over the coming weeks.
But underneath all of it is one question:
What becomes possible when Black women don't just find the room, but find each other?
That's the bigger conversation I want us to have here.
And I want you in it. π€

I love this scripture because strength and dignity don't mean having everything figured out.
Sometimes strength is making the decision.
Sometimes it is changing your mind.
Sometimes it is asking for help.
And sometimes it is finally admitting that the way you've been doing something is no longer taking you where you want to go.
Power can look very different in different seasons.
YOUR ONE QUESTION THIS WEEK
Before you write another goal for September, I want you to ask yourself something slightly different:
Who am I becoming in this season?
Not just:
What do I want to achieve?
But:
Who do I need to become to achieve it?
Maybe she needs to be more visible.
Maybe she needs to ask for the opportunity instead of hoping someone notices her.
Maybe she needs stronger boundaries.
Maybe she needs to stop doing everything herself.
Maybe she needs to make the offer.
Maybe she simply needs to trust what she already knows.
Take five minutes today and finish this sentence:
In this next season, I am becoming a woman who...
Write it somewhere you will see it.
Because before we talk strategy, visibility, revenue, rooms and opportunities over the coming Tuesdays, I want us to start with her.
The woman building all of it.

A reminder that sometimes the room you need doesn't exist yet.
Madam C.J. Walker didn't wait for an industry to recognise the needs of Black women. She built a business around them and created opportunities for other Black women along the way.
That's the energy I want us to carry into In Her Power.
Not simply asking, βWhere do I fit?β
But also asking:
βWhat could I build?β
Sometimes your next move isn't finding the right room.
It's creating one.

Confidence.
Connections.

Rest.
